Lady Bison Soccer Falls to Oklahoma Baptist Saturday

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team fell to Oklahoma Baptist 3-1 Saturday in Great American Conference action at the Stevens Soccer Complex.

Harding falls to 3-5-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the GAC.

Oklahoma Baptist improves o 4-4-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the GAC.

GOALS

Oklahoma Baptist 1, Harding 0 – 4th minute – Hannah White sent a cross from the left side of the box to the center that found Kelsey Bumgarner who hit the lower right corner of the net. It was her first goal of the season.

Oklahoma Baptist 2, Harding 0 – 23rd minute – Ruth King dribbled all the way from midfield and found the back of the net for 13-yards out. It was her fifth goal of the season.

Oklahoma Baptist 2, Harding 1 – 25th minute – McKenzie Betancur sent a cross from left to center of the box that found Nicole Morgan who shot from 20 yards out to lower right corner of the net. It was her first career goal.

Oklahoma Baptist 3, Harding 1 – 84th minute – Katie Fowler took a shot that was saved but the rebound came right to Kelsi Mensen who tapped the ball into the net.

STATS

Oklahoma Baptist had 33 shots in the game, 13 were on goal. Reagan Mann led Oklahoma Baptist with six. Ruth King also took five shots. Oklahoma Baptist took 15 shots in box.

Harding had five shots all by different players, three were on goal. Harding thought it tied the game at two before halftime on a Melanie Spurgeon shot but it was saved by the Oklahoma Baptist goalkeeper off the line.

Jessica Woessner, the reigning GAC Goalkeeper of the Week, had nine saves for Harding.

Woessner and Michelle Morgan both played the full 90 minutes for Harding.

Harding will travel to Oklahoma next week as it takes on Southwestern Oklahoma Thursday at 3 p.m. and then Northwestern Oklahoma at 11 a.m.
