RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league's volleyball awards for 10th week of the 2019 season. Harding's Kelli McKinnon and Northwestern Oklahoma State's Kiauna Clark shared the Offensive honor. The Rangers' Sydnee Miller claimed the Defensive accolade and Southern Nazarene's Kylie Smith earned the Setter award.
GAC OFFENSIVE CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kelli McKinnon, Harding, MB, Fr., Trophy Club, Texas
McKinnon and the Lady Bisons scored sweeps against Ouachita and Arkansas-Monticello to sew up a spot in the GAC Championships. She notched 14 kills and hit .345 in a sweep of the Tigers. She followed up by registering 12 kills with a .478 attack percentage against the Blossoms. She hit .404 for the week.
GAC OFFENSIVE CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kiauna Clark, Northwestern Oklahoma State, OPP, Sr., San Antonio, Texas
Clark paced the Rangers to a four-set win against Southern Nazarene and a sweep against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The win against the Bulldogs gave the Rangers their 21st win, a single-season school record. She registered a 16-kill, 11-dig performance against the Crimson Storm. She hit .552 and did not commit an error against SWOSU.
GAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sydnee Miller, Northwestern Oklahoma State, L, Jr., Raymore, Missouri
Miller collected her third GAC honor as she helped the Rangers extend their win streak to five. She tallied 34 digs in a four-set victory against Southern Nazarene, one dig shy of the GAC high in a four-set contest this season. She followed up with 21 in a sweep of rival Southwestern Oklahoma State.
GAC SETTER OF THE WEEK – Kylie Smith, Southern Nazarene, Sr., Deer Park, Texas
Smith earned her sixth GAC Setter award as she maintained her status as the league's top setter. She averaged a GAC-leading 13.62 assists per set. She registered her third 60-assist match of the season, and first in a four-set affair, against Northwestern Oklahoma State. She followed up with 49 assists and 15 digs in a four-set against first-place Southern Nazarene.
