Harding Women's Tennis Victorious 5-2 over UAFS

SEARCY – 33th-ranked Harding women's tennis defeated Arkansas-Fort Smith 5-2 at the newly christened David Elliott Tennis Complex. The facility received its new name in a ceremony prior to the match that honored Harding's head coach of 39 seasons.
 
Harding improved to 14-5 with the victory. The next action for the Lady Bisons will come Friday when Harding takes on Arkansas Tech in Russellville in its final Great American Conference match of the regular season.
 
Arkansas-Fort Smith fell to 6-9, losing to Harding for the seventh consecutive match. UAFS last defeated Harding in 2015.
 
Harding won the doubles point with wins at all three spots. Rylie Cox and Arisa Takanashi won 6-2 at No. 1 to improve to 9-2 in dual matches this season.
 
Harding's singles wins came from Cox at No. 1, Takanashi at No. 2, Hana Folse at No. 3 and Allison Carpenter at No. 5. Takanashi's win was her eighth straight and 19th of the season. Cox won her 22nd match, tying her for eighth in a Harding single season.
