WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Harding softball team dropped both games of the Great American -Conference doubleheader at Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday. The Bulldogs won 7-2 and 4-3.
Harding won both games Friday as the two teams tied the four-game series.
Harding falls to 26-16 overall and 18-12 in the GAC.
Southwestern Oklahoma improves to 13-26 overall and 12-18 in the GAC.
Game One Key Innings (Southwestern Oklahoma 7, Harding 2)
- Southwestern Oklahoma got on the board in the bottom of the first when Samantha Householder singled to the shortstop that scored Amanda Moreno.
- The Bulldogs added three more on four hits in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Southwestern had four hits with three different players driving in a run.
- Southwestern Oklahoma added another run in the fifth to lead 5-0.
- Harding got on the board in the sixth when Peyton Mills scored on a throwing error.
- The Bulldogs took a 7-1 lead in the sixth scoring two runs on three hits. Jessica Carmo had the only RBI in the inning.
- Hanna Jones hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to score Madison Leggett for the Lady Bisons.
Game One Key Statistics
- Southwestern Oklahoma had 12 hits led by Hannah Morris who went 3-for-4.
- Harding had four hits with Madison Leggett having two.
- Alisa Friesen got the win for Southwestern Oklahoma to improve to 5-10 on the season. She went the distance, gave up one earned run and had one strikeout.
- Harding starter Jenna Hipp received the loss and falls to 11-5 on the season.
Game Two Key Innings (Southwestern Oklahoma 4, Harding 3)
- Harding took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBIs by Peyton Mills and Amanda Fields.
- Southwestern Oklahoma got a run back in the second when Kirk hit a solo home run to right field.
- The Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead in the third when Samantha Householder drove in two runs when she singled up the middle.
- Southwestern Oklahoma made it 4-2 in the fifth when Hannah Franklin doubled in a run.
- Harding pulled within one 4-3 in the sixth when Madison Leggett hit a sacrifice fly that scored Allison Hyatt.
- Harding had a runner at second and one out in the seventh but couldn't produce the tying run.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Southwestern Oklahoma had six hits by six different players.
- Harding had seven hits with Peyton Mills and Briley Feringa each having two.
- Southwestern Oklahoma starter Miranda Grover got the win and improves to 3-3 on the season. She threw five innings and gave up two earned runs.
- Alisa Friesen got the save for the Bulldogs. It was her second of the season.

- Harding will be back in action Tuesday when it hosts Arkansas Tech in a GAC doubleheader. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
