Softball Splits with Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday

DURANT, Okla.  – The Harding softball team split a Great American Conference doubleheader with Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday. The Savage Storm won the first game 7-6 and the Lady Bisons won the second game 6-2.

Harding moves to 12-12 overall and 5-7 in the GAC.

Southeastern Oklahoma moves to 15-9 overall and 7-5 in the GAC.


Game One Key Innings (Southeastern Okla. 7, Harding 6)

-         B1 – Karsyn Brigance laid down a bunt that scored Symphoni Shomo from third. (Harding 0 , Southeastern Okla. 1)

-         T2 – Nicole Shano led off the inning with a solo home run. Aidan Nichols hit a double that scored Mary Mills Lochala. (Harding 2, Southeastern Okla. 1)

-         B3 – Southeastern Oklahoma scored six runs on seven hits and a Harding error. Ivy Amador and Gracie Ore both drove in two in the inning. (Harding 2, Southeastern Okla. 7)

-         T4 – Allison Hyatt had a pinch hit double to left that scored Kendall Tramel and Aidan Nichols. (Harding 4, Southeastern Okla. 7)

-         T5 – Aidan Nichols hit a single to center that scored Mary Mills Lochala from third (Harding 5, Southeastern Okla. 7)

-         T7 – Hannah Garrett had a RBI ground out that scored Amanda Fields. (Harding 6, Southeastern Okla. 7).

 
Game One Key Statistics

-         Harding had 14 hits in the game. Four players had two or more hits. Aidan Nichols led the Lady Bisons at the plate going 3-for-4.

-         Southeastern Oklahoma had seven hits all by different players.

-         It was Nicole Shano's third home run of the season.

-         Allison Hyatt and Aidan Nichols both drove in two runs.

-         Katie McCullar got the win for Southeastern Oklahoma to improve to 8-3. She pitched 3 1/3 innings and struck out two.

-         Jenna Hipp received the loss for Harding and falls to 3-6 on the season. She went 2 2/3 innings. Lily Tanski pitched 3 1/3 innings of relief, gave up one hit, and had four strikeouts.

-         T1 – Nicole Shano hit a RBI single to right that scored Hanna Jones from second.  (Harding 1, Southeastern Okla. 0)

-         T3 – Briley Feringa hit a two RBI single to center that scored Hanna Jones and Aidan Nichols (Harding 3, Southeastern Okla. 0)

-         B4 – Kady Fryear led off the inning with a home run to left. (Harding 3, Southeastern Okla. 1)

-         T6 – Kendall Tramel hit a single to center that scored Hannah Garrett and Aidan Nichols hit a single that scored Tramel from second. (Harding 5, Southeastern Okla. 1)

-         T7 – Amanda Fields reached on an error as Mary Mills Lochala scored. (Harding 6, Southeastern Okla. 1)

-         B7 – Ivy Amador hit a solo home run to left (Harding 6, Southeastern Okla. 2)

 
Game Two Key Statistics

-         Harding had 13 hits with five players having two or more. Nicole Shano went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Lady Bisons.

-         Southeastern Oklahoma had nine hits led by Tena Spoolstra who went 3-for-3.

-         Aidan Nichols got the win for Harding to improve to 6-3. She pitched 6 1/3 innings and struck out five. Lily Tanski got the save in 2/3 innings. She didn't allow a hit or run. It was her first of the season.

-         Ashley Hedrick received the loss for Southeastern Oklahoma and falls to 2-4. She went seven inning gave up five earned runs and had one strikeout.


Up Next

-         The Lady Bisons will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Shawnee, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma Baptist in a four-game series. First pitch is schedule for Friday at 3 p.m.
