Volleyball Falls 3-1 at Union

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Harding volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-16, 29-27, 18-25, 25-19) Tuesday at Union. It was the final non-conference match of the season for the Lady Bisons.

Harding falls to 10-7 overall and Union improves to 15-7.

FIRST SET

Union jumped out to an 8-2 lead early in the first set. After two Harding points the Lady Bulldogs went on a 9-1 run to lead 17-5. Union won the set 25-16. The Lady Bisons had 12 attack errors in the set.

SECOND SET

Union again jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second set. Trialing 10-3, Harding went on a 12-5 run on four kills to tie the set at 15. The two teams kept it close until the Lady Bulldogs had back-to-back kills to win the set 29-27. Each team had 14 kills in the set.

THIRD SET

Harding took a 11-3 lead early in the third set and didn't allow Union to get any closer than five the rest of the way as the Lady Bisons won the set 25-18. Harding had 14 kills in the set with Amber Robin and Logan Smith each having four.

FOURTH SET

The fourth set stayed close until Union broke away. Leading 19-17, the Lady Bulldogs scored five straight to lead 23-17. Two kills gave Union the set 25-19. Each team had 13 kills in the set.

Harding

-          Harding had 51 kills, 31 attack errors and hit .097.

-          Logan Smith captured a double-double with 11 kills and a season-high 22 digs.

-          Amber Robin had nine kills and 22 digs.

-          The Lady Bisons had 96 digs in the match.

Union

-          Union had 49 kills, 17 attack errors and hit .184.

-          Alyssa Tatsch captured a double-double with 14 kills and 20 digs.

-          The Lady Bulldogs had 104 digs in the match. Jordan Vick led the team with 21 digs.

 

UP NEXT

The Lady Bisons will be back in action Friday when it hosts Southeastern Oklahoma at 6 p.m., in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
