MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team moved its winning streak to five matches Thursday after it swept Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-15) in Great American Conference action.
Harding improves to 16-8 overall and 12-4 in the GAC.
The Lady Bisons have already sealed their spot in the GAC Tournament held Nov. 18-20 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Harding will be the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed East Central Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Arkansas-Monticello falls to 9-20 overall and 3-13 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Tied at five in the first set, Harding went on an 8-1 run on four kills to lead 13-6. Arkansas-Monticello tried to mount a comeback but fell short as the Lady Bisons won the set 25-19. Harding had 16 kills in the set led by Kelli McKinnon who had five.
SECOND SET
Tied again at five, Harding went on an 8-2 run to lead 13-7. Arkansas-Monticello pulled within two 15-13, before Harding went on a 7-3 run on four kills to lead 20-23. The Lady Bisons went on and won the set 25-16. Harding had 16 kills led by Ally Stoner who had five.
THIRD SET
Tied at 11 in the third set, Harding went on a 9-2 run on five kills to lead 20-13. The Lady Bisons scored the last three points of the set on three kills to win 25-15. Harding had 14 kills led by Kelli McKinnon who had five. Sarah Morehead also had 12 assists and six digs.
