Harding Men's Track Opens Indoor Season in Kansas

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Eight members of the Harding men's indoor track and field team opened their season Friday and Saturday at two meets hosted by Pittsburg State at the Robert W. Plaster Center.

Freshman Jacob Cantrell participated in the Boo Rogers Multi Events Friday. He placed 14th with 4,167 points, landing seventh on Harding's career performers list in the heptathlon in his Harding debut. Cantrell's top event was the 60-meter dash where he earned 713 points for a time of 7.50 seconds.

Saturday, seven athletes competed in the Crimson and Gold Classic. Sophomore Fallou Gaye and sophomore Dakarai Bush both had third-place finishes. Gaye was third in the 300 meters at 34.96 seconds. Bush set a PR at 8.25 seconds.

Harding also had two pole vaulters reach NCAA provisional levels. Senior Austin Parrish placed fifth with a PR of 4.90 meters (16-00.75), moving him to fifth on Harding's top performers lists. Dorian Chaigneau, last year's national champion in the indoor pole vault, placed 10th with a provisional height of 4.80 meters (15-9).
