SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team swept Southern Arkansas 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-21) Tuesday in Great American Conference action. The Lady Bisons have not dropped a set this season.

Harding improves to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the GAC.

Southern Arkansas falls to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Trailing 11-9 in the first set, Harding went on a 9-2 run on three kills by Libby Hinton to lead 18-13. Leading 22-19, two kills and a Southern Arkansas attack error gave the Lady Bisons the set 25-19. Harding had 14 kills in the set and hit .250. The Muleriders were held to hitting .067 in the set.

SECOND SET

Harding jumped out to a 6-2 early lead on four kills in the second set. Southern Arkansas battled back to pull within one 24-23 but a kill by Chloe Ingersoll gave the Lady Bisons the set 25-23. Harding again at 14 kills in the set. Southern Arkansas had seven attack errors in the set.

THIRD SET

With the third set tied at 20. Harding closed the set on a 5-1 run. A Sarah Morehead ace gave the Lady Bisons the set 25-21. Southern Arkansas had 15 kills in the set but eight attack errors.

-          Libby Hinton had a season-high 11 kills and hit for a season-high .529.

-          Sarah Morehead had 24 assists and three digs.

-           Emily Smith led Harding at the net with five blocks.

-          Kelli McKinnon led the defense with eight digs and three blocks.

Southern Arkansas

-          Morgan Gross led Southern Arkansas with 14 kills and had eight digs.

-          Morgan Schuster had 29 assists and eight digs.

-          Brianna Nipper led the defense with 11 digs.

Harding will host Ouachita Baptist next Tuesday at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
