Jordan Cabana’s Homerun Leads Softball Over Ouachita Baptist in Five

SEARCY  – The Harding softball team run-ruled Ouachita Baptist 10-1 in five innings Sunday in the final game of the Great American Conference series.

Ouachita Baptist still won the series after winning both games of the doubleheader Saturday.

Harding improves to 5-2 overall and 1-2 in the GAC.

Ouachita Baptist falls to 6-4 overall and 4-2 in the GAC.


Game One Key Innings (Harding 10, Ouachita Bapist 1)

-         T1 – Jillian Jones hit a single for Ouachita Baptist that scored Hope Waid from second. (Ouachita Baptist 1, Harding 0)

-         B1 – After a triple by Hanna Jones, Nicole Shano had the ground out RBI. (Harding 1, Ouachita Baptist 1)

-         B2 – With runners at first and second Jordan Cabana hit her first career home run to left field. (Harding 4, Ouachita Baptist 1)

-         B3 – Harding scored four runs on four hits and Ouachita Baptist error. Harding had two sacrifice flies in the inning. (Harding 8, Ouachita Baptist 1)

-         B4 – Ashlyn Peterson hit a double to center field that drove in pitch runners Allison Hyatt and Kendall Tramel. (Harding 10, Ouachita Baptist 1)

 
Game One Key Statistics

-         It was Harding's first run-rule of the season.

-         Harding had six hits led by Ashlyn Peterson who went 3-for-3 and had three RBI. Jordan Cabana went 1-for-1 with four RBI in the game.

-         Ouachita Baptist had five hits all by different players.

-         Lily Tanski threw the complete game and got the win. She improves to 3-1. She gave up one earned run and had three strikeouts.

-         Nicole Arreola received the loss for Ouachita Baptist and falls to 2-2 on the season.
