The Harding women's tennis team won their fifth straight match, defeating Oklahoma Baptist 7-0 on Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The Lady Bisons improved to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in conference while Oklahoma Baptist fell to 2-17 on the season and 0-4 in conference.
The Lady Bisons won the first point of the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Romane Britt and
Lindy Carpenter won their seventh straight match as a team 6-2.
Hana Folse and
Allison Carpenter won at No. 3 6-1, for their third straight win as a team.
Folse picked up the second point of the match for the Lady Bisons with a straight set, 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4. Britt improved to 12-0 on the year in singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4.
Rylie Cox Evans and
Emily Carpenter bounded back from their loss in doubles with 6-3, 6-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to clinch the match.
Allison Carpenter won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 and
Lindy Carpenter won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 to finish off the sweep.
The Lady Bisons will face Southeastern Oklahoma State on Sunday at 10 a.m. in a matchup for the only two teams left undefeated in Great American Conference play.
