RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league's 12th softball weekly awards for the 2021 season. Ouachita's Hope Waid and Southern Arkansas' Elisa Favela split Player of the Week while Arkansas-Monticello's Alexis Pevehouse and Harding's Lily Tanski shared Pitcher of the Week
GAC SOFTBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hope Waid, Ouachita, SS, So., Fort Worth, Texas
Waid recorded three multi-hit games in the Tigers' series against Southern Nazarene. In game one, she went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base. In Saturday's first game, she collected three hits, stole three bases and scored three runs. In the finale, she singled twice, stole her fifth base of the series and scored another run. She hit .636 over the weekend.
GAC SOFTBALL CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Elisa Favela, Southern Arkansas, DP, Sr., Ewa Beach, Hawaii
In the Muleriders' three-game sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State, Favela reached base six times in 10 trips to the plate. After going 1-for-3 in game one, she went 4-for-5 in Saturday's doubleheader with two home runs, a double and six RBI. She slugged 1.500 and scored four runs in the series.
GAC SOFTBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Alexie Pevehouse, Arkansas-Monticello, RHP, So., Melissa, Texas
Pevehouse picked up three wins as the Blossoms claimed the final berth to the GAC Championships. In her first appearance against Southwestern Oklahoma State, she entered a scoreless game in the fifth inning and retired all five batters she faced. She threw a one-hit shutout in game two and a four-hit shutout on Saturday. She limited the Bulldogs to a .116 average.
GAC SOFTBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Lily Tanski, Harding, RHP, So., Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Tanski earned two wins as the Lady Bisons extended their win streak to 11 and reached the 30-win mark for the fifth-straight full season. Against East Central, she threw two complete games, one shutout, in improving to a GAC-leading 19-6. She struck out six a four-hit shutout on Friday and a season-high 12 on Saturday.
