The Harding men's tennis team fell to Southern Arkansas 4-0 on Friday in the semifinals of the Central Regional Tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Bisons conclude their season with an overall record of 9-8. Harding is now 0-11 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
The Bisons jumped out to an early lead in doubles, winning at No. 2.
Dani Ortiz and
Arthur Bellan won their fifth straight match with a 6-1 victory. The Muleriders, however, went on to win the last two matches and secured the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead.
Southern Arkansas continued their good start into singles action taking the first three matches and securing the 4-0 sweep of the Bisons. The Muleriders won at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6, and were leading at No. 3 and No. 5 when the match was stopped.
Morgan Salvan finished the season in the top 25 of most career singles wins (60), most career doubles wins (49), best career singles record (60-20), and best career doubles record (49-23). Alvardo de Lorenzo finished the season 25
th all-time in best singles record with a 38-14 overall record for a .731 winning percentage.
Luis Tirado finised the season with the 16
th most doubles wins in a career with 54.
