RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team fell to Arkansas Tech 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-17) Thursday in Great American Conference action.
The loss snapped a six-game winning streak dating back to September 10.
Harding falls to 8-4 on the season and 4-1 in the GAC.
Arkansas Tech improves to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
With the first set tied a four, Arkansas Tech went on a 5-0 run on three kills to lead 9-4. Harding battled back to pull within one, 14-13 but the Golden Suns answered back with a 3-0 run. Arkansas Tech went on to win the set 25-19. The Golden Suns had 17 kills in the set.
SECOND SET
Arkansas Tech started the second set with a 3-0 run on two kills. Harding fought back to take a 7-6 lead. The Golden Suns answered with a 5-0 run to lead 11-7. With the set tied a 23, Arkansas Tech had a kill and a block to win the set 25-23. Arkansas Tech had 13 kills and hit .082 in the set.
THIRD SET
Harding took a 12-8 lead in the third set until Arkansas Tech went on a 12-2 run on eight kills to lead 21-14. With a 22-17 score, the Golden Suns forced a service error and had back-to-back kills to win the set 25-17.
