The Harding women's tennis team picked up two wins on Friday over UT-Tyler and Northeastern St. The Lady Bisons defeated UT-Tyler in a close 4-3 in the morning and defeated Northeastern St. 5-2 in the afternoon. The Lady Bisons improved to 3-2 on the year while UT-Tyler fell to 1-2 and Northeastern St. fell to 3-1.

The win over Northeastern St. was the first time in 28 matches that they Lady Bisons defeated the Riverhawks.

In the morning, Allison and
Lindy Carpenter got the day started with a win at the No. 2 line 6-2.
Romane Britt and
Grace Dodd, the No. 8 ranked doubles team in the Central Region, teamed up for the first time in a dual match and clinched the doubles point for the Lady Bisons, winning 6-3 at No. 1.

In singles action,
Allison Carpenter won her fourth straight match at No. 5 singles 6-2, 7-5.
Jing Jing Yang made her singles debut in a dual match and won at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2. After leading 3-0 in the match the Lady Bisons dropped three matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6, and relied on Britt to close out the match. Britt battled in a tough three-set match and eventually secured the match for the Lady Bisons with a 5-7, 7-6, 7-5 win at No. 3. The win was Britt's 25
th career singles victory.

In the afternoon, the Riverhawks took the first doubles match at No. 3 and forced the Lady Bisons to win the remaining two matches. Britt and Dodd secured the point for the Lady Bisons with a 6-4 win. Allison and
Lindy Carpenter won their fourth straight match as a pair, 6-4 at No. 2.

Emily Carpenter won the first singles match 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5. Dodd won a matchup of two ranked singles players in the Central Region at No. 1, 6-4, 6-4.
Lina Romero secured the match for the Lady Bisons with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 2.
Lindy Carpenter won at No. 5, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

The Lady Bisons will return to action on Saturday for one match against Dallas Baptist beginning at 11 a.m.
