The Harding women's tennis team defeated Missouri-St. Louis 5-2 on Sunday at the Elliott Tennis Complex. Harding improves to 4-3 on the year and Missouri-St. Louis fell to 1-3.
In doubles action,
Romane Britt and
Lindy Carpenter won their fourth match of the season at No. 2, 6-3. After a Tritons win at No. 3, the Lady Bisons looked to
Grace Dodd and
Allison Carpenter to secure the doubles point. Dodd and
Allison Carpenter won their second straight match and gave the Lady Bisons the early 1-0 lead with a 6-4 victory.
Britt scored the second point of the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2.
Lindy Carpenter won her third straight match at No. 6 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Lina Romero clinched the match for the Lady Bisons with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3.
Allison Carpenter battled back after dropping the first set to win 4-6, 6-2, 10-5 at No. 5 for the Lady Bisons final victory of the day.
Harding will open conference action in their next match when they travel to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, March 3 beginning at 2 p.m.
