ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Senior Hanna Jones put together a stellar showing at the plate Saturday, hitting two homers, but the No. 24 Harding Lady Bisons fell to the Ouachita Baptist Tigers 7-6.
Despite the loss, Harding still won the series after sweeping the doubleheader Friday.
Sophomore Jessica Bridges (2-1) came out of the bullpen for Harding (15-6, 4-2) and took the loss. The right-hander went two innings, giving up one run on one hit, allowing one walk and striking out two.
Jones went 2-for-3 at the plate, supplementing her two home runs with three RBIs. Junior Nicole Shano also had a solo home run in the game. Junior Madison Fraley also chipped in for the Lady Bisons, going 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harding started the game with back-to-back home runs by Jones and Shano.
The Lady Bisons pushed across two more runs in the third when Madison Fraley singled in Emma Curry and Chelsea Blankenship.
Ouachita Baptist narrowed Harding's lead to 4-1 before the Lady Bisons stretched the advantage to 6-1 in the fourth on Jones' two-run homer to left. Harding was unable to hold the lead, as Ouachita Baptist scored six times over the remaining three innings to grab the 7-6 win.

» It was Jones' first multiple home run game.
» Harding pitchers faced 37 Ouachita Baptist hitters in the game, allowing nine ground balls and eight fly balls while striking out three.

Harding will back in action Tuesday when it travels to Russellville, Arkansas to take on Arkansas Tech in a GAC doubleheader. First pitch is schedule for 3 p.m.
