Chaigneau Breaks HU Pole Vault Record at Bison Open

SEARCY – Sophomore Dorian Chaigneau broke his own school record in the pole vault Saturday, one of eight event victories and four NCAA provisional marks for Harding at the Bison Open.

Chaigneau cleared 5.31 meters or 17 feet, 5 inches on his third attempt. It was the third-highest clearance in NCAA Division II this season and was his fifth career event victory in the outdoor pole vault.

Chaigneau was one of three Harding pole vaulters to clear provisional heights. Senior Austin Parrish set a new PR with a clearance of 5.21 meters or 17 feet, 1 inch. Senior Alex Hindman cleared 4.96 meters or 16 feet, 3.25 inches.

Freshman Antiwain Jones won the high jump by clearing an NCAA provisional height of 2.05 meters or 6 feet, 8.75 inches.

Harding's other event victories included: junior Fallou Gaye in the 400 meters (47.83), senior Thibault Waeles in the 1,500 meters (4:02.28), freshman Savian Bush in the 110 hurdles (15.06), senior Jaylon Williams in the 400 hurdles (57.21), junior Moses Rivera in the discus (46.49m, 152-6) and the 4x100-meter relay team of Krishaun Watson, Jamaric Hill, Tad Kirby and JP Rutherford (42.20).
