Harding Men Place Third at Joey Haines Invitational

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Ranked eighth nationally in NCAA Division II, Harding's men placed third in a field of 13 mostly Division I schools at the Joey Haines Invitational, hosted by Southeast Missouri State.

Harding scored 105 points. Murray State won with 177 points.

The Bisons posted four NCAA provisional marks and scored five event victories.

Harding's lone provisional in the track events came from sophomore Nikolasz Csokas in the 400-meter hurdles. His winning time of 52.89 seconds was just off his season best of 52.69.

The Bisons had three pole vaulters hit provisionals. Senior Austin Parrish won the event with a clearance of 5.10 meters or 16 feet, 8.75 inches. His season best is 5.12 meters. Freshman Kylor Aguilar cleared 5.00 meters or 16 feet, 4.75 inches. His season best is 5.05 meters. Senior Alex Hindman was the third Bison with a provisional at 4.85 meters or 15 feet, 11 inches. His season best is also 5.05 meters.

Sophomore Tad Kirby won both the 100 meters and 200 meters. His time in the 100 was 10.72 seconds, a new PR and his second career event victory in the 100. He ran 21.90 in the 200 for his fifth career victory in that event.

Harding's final event victory came in the 4x400 relay where Fallou Gaye, Csokas, Kirby and Dakarai Bush won in 3:16.66. Harding's best mile relay time this season was 3:12.66.

At the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Harding had two entries in the 5,000 meters. Freshman Luke Walling finished in 14:54.16 and sophomore Jackson Pruim crossed in 15:23.55. Freshman Dylan Mayberry finished the 10,000 meters in 31:43.17.
