Volleyball Sweeps Southeastern Oklahoma Friday

DURANT, Okla. – The Harding volleyball team got its 11th match sweep of the season Friday defeating Southeastern Oklahoma 3-0 (25-19, 26-24, 25-17) in Great American Conference action.

Harding improves to 18-1 on the season and keeps its winning streak alive at 16 matches. The Lady Bisons are one win away from tying their school winning streak record of 17 matches. It has happened twice the first being in 2002 and the second in 2005.

The Lady Bisons improve to 7-0 in the GAC.

Southeastern Oklahoma falls to 2-16 overall and 0-7 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Trailing 7-3, Harding went on a 12-4 run on eight kills to take a 15-11 lead. Southeastern Oklahoma answered back with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 15. Tied at 17, the Lady Bisons went on an 8-2 run to win the set 25-19. Harding had 17 kills in the set.

SECOND SET

Trailing 22-16 in the second set, Southeastern Oklahoma went on an 8-0 run to take a 24-22 lead. Harding answered back and won the set 26-24 on a 4-0 run. Each team had 12 kills in the set. Harding forced 10 Southeastern Oklahoma attack errors in the set.

THIRD SET

Trailing 7-4 in the third set, Harding went on a 11-2 run to lead 15-9. The Lady Bisons went on to win the set 25-17 behind 14 kills.

STATS

Harding

-          Harding had 43 kills and hit .217 in the match.

-          Skyler McKinnon and Jacey Lambert each had nine kills to lead the team.

-          Emma Winiger led the defense with 21 digs. Kinley Schnell also had 11 digs.

Southeastern Okla.

-          Southeastern Oklahoma had 36 kills, 22 attack errors and hit .103 in the match.

-          D'Nari Mills led the team with 11 kills and 20 digs.

Harding returns home next week to host Northwestern Oklahoma Thursday at 6 p.m. and Southwestern Oklahoma Friday at 4 p.m.
