Harding Men's Tennis Triumphs Over Arkansas-Fort Smith in Fall Dual Match

SEARCY - In the sole fall dual match, the Harding men's tennis team triumphed over Arkansas-Fort Smith with a 5-2 victory, securing five of six singles matches at the David Elliott Tennis Center.

The doubles action saw Arkansas-Fort Smith claim a 6-3 win at No. 2, while Harding swiftly responded with a 6-3 victory at No. 1. Cas de Ruiter and Teodor Zlatar, who recently made the ITA Central Regional finals, secured their fifth win in six matches as a team. De Ruiter's impressive record includes 23 wins out of 24 dual doubles matches, with an ongoing streak of 18 consecutive victories. Arkansas-Fort Smith clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win at No. 3.

In singles play, Cian Mikkelsen leveled the match with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6, marking his ninth career singles win. De Ruiter continued the momentum, claiming a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2, marking his 25th career singles win. UALR managed to tie the match at 2-2 with a win at No. 3.

Teodor Zlatar secured the lead for Harding with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 1, bringing the score to 3-2. Caleb Folse sealed the deal with a hard-fought 5-7, 6-0, 10-7 win at No. 4 in his first collegiate dual match. Edoardo D'Arrigo added the final point with a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 5, marking his sixth career singles win.

Harding's next significant event is the GAC Individual Championships scheduled for October 20-21 in Russellville, Arkansas.
