SEARCY – Logan Smith-Morgan captured a double-double with 18 kills and 14 digs to lead the Harding volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-19, 25-12) victory Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding improves to 16-10 overall and 11-3 in the GAC. With the win, the Lady Bisons sealed a spot in the GAC Tournament held November 16-18 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Harding is still in a battle for first place in the GAC standings.

Arkansas Tech falls to 3-23 overall and 2-12 in the GAC.

FIRST SET

Trailing 5-3 in the first set, Harding went on a 9-3 run on seven kills to lead 12-8. Leading 23-17, the Lady Bisons had a kill and a block to win the set 25-17. Harding had 19 kills in the set and hit .341.

SECOND SET

Trailing 5-4 in the second set, Arkansas Tech went on a 6-0 run to lead 10-5. Leading 19-15, the Golden Suns went on a 6-4 run to win the set 25-19. Each team had 14 kills in the set.

THIRD SET

Trailing 12-10 in the third set, Harding went on a 4-1 run on two kills and two blocks to lead 14-13. Leading 18-17, the Lady Bisons went on a 5-0 run to lead 23-17. After two Arkansas Tech points, the Lady Bisons had back-to-back kills to win the set 25-19. Harding had 15 kills and forced seven Golden Sun attack errors.

FOURTH SET

Harding jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the fourth set on a six kills. After two Arkansas Tech points, the Lady Bisons went on a 7-0 run to lead 15-3. Leading 23-12, Harding had back-to-back kills to win the set 25-12. Harding had 13 kills and only two attack errors in the set. The Lady Bisons also held the Golden Suns to five kills.

-          Harding had 61 kills, 17 attack errors and hit .314 in the match.

-          Three Lady Bisons ended in double-figure kills. Joining Logan Smith-Morgan was Chloe Ingersoll had 15 kills and Libby Hinton had 10.

-          Harding had 58 assists in the match with Olivia Wiedower leading the team with 27 and Avery Hall had 26.

-          Emma Winiger led the defense with 21 kills.

-          Harding was defensively at the net by Ashley Lamkin who had five blocks.

Arkansas Tech

-          Arkansas Tech had 41 kills, 18 attack errors and hit .174.

-          Kaitlyn Neal led the Golden Suns with 13 kills and 14 digs.

-          Jamie Myrick led the defense with 16 digs.
