SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team opened its 2023 campaign with a 3-1 win at Southwest Baptist Thursday. All three goals came in the first half.
Harding improves to 1-0-0 on the season.
Southwest Baptist falls to 0-1-0 on the season.
GOALS
Harding 1, Southwest Baptist 0 – 17th minute – Talia Walsh found Lauren Service to put Harding on the board. It was her fourth career goal.
Harding 1, Southwest Baptist 1 – 22nd minute – Tamerra Gantt found the back of the net to tie the game.
Harding 2, Southwest Baptist 1 – 41st minute – Whitney Thomas took a shot that was saved but she knocked in the rebound for her second career goal.
Harding 3, Southwest Baptist 1 – 45th minute – With less than 30 seconds before halftime, Gabie Eddins found Whitney Thomas for her second goal of the game.
STATS
Harding took 18 shots in the game, all three of the shots on goal found the back of the net. Whitney Thomas and Lauren Service each had three shots in the game. Six different Harding players had multiple shots in the game.
Southwest Baptist took seven shots and were led by Tamerra Gantt who had three shots.
