Harding Volleyball Sweeps Arkansas-Monticello

SEARCY, Ark. — Harding volleyball extended its dominance over Arkansas-Monticello with a convincing straight-sets victory Thursday, beating the Blossoms 25-9, 25-16, 25-21 in Great American Conference play at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding (17-7, 10-2) remained a match back of conference leader Southwestern Oklahoma. The Lady Bisons have won four consecutive matches and 18 straight against Arkansas-Monticello (4-18, 0-12).

Skyler McKinnon paced Harding with 16 kills, marking her 10th consecutive match with 10 or more kills. Payton Hilmer recorded a career-high 10 kills, while Maegan Lacy added 10 kills and 15 digs for her seventh double-double this season.

Tatum Fouche and Lacy led the team with 15 digs each. Olivia Wiedower tallied a team-high 40 assists, two kills and nine digs.

Harding hit .331, its third-best figure this season, and held a significant 51-28 edge in kills.

Set Recaps

Set 1

Harding dominated the first set 25-9, allowing its fewest points in a set this season. The Lady Bisons hit .406 with 16 kills, while Arkansas-Monticello managed just three kills and five errors. Payton Hilmer led Harding with four kills, Olivia Wiedower had 13 assists and Tatum Fouche added four digs.

Set 2

Harding took the second set 25-16, using a 7-1 run to break a 7-7 tie. The Lady Bisons hit .240 with 17 kills, while Arkansas-Monticello hit .047. Harding closed the set with seven consecutive points.

Set 3

In the third set, Harding trailed by three points six times before battling back to tie at 12-12 and 15-15. A Skyler McKinnon kill gave Harding its first lead at 16-15. The set was tied five times before Harding took the lead for good at 21-20 on a Delaney Garner kill, sealing the match with an ace.
