Harding's Season Ends with Penalty Kick Loss to Oklahoma Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Oklahoma Baptist advanced to the Great American Conference Tournament finals after defeating Harding 3-2 in penalty kicks following a 1-1 tie through two overtime periods.

Carmen Gunn gave Harding an early lead with a right-footed tap into the goal in the 11th minute, assisted by Georgia Templeton and Lauren Service.

Lex Williamson equalized for Oklahoma Baptist in the 81st minute with a left-footed goal off Ashley Bell's corner.

After two scoreless 10-minute overtime periods, Oklahoma Baptist secured the win in the penalty shootout. Gunn and Whitney Thomas scored for Harding, who also had three penalty kick misses.

Oklahoma Baptist goalkeeper Claire Stoermer made eight saves, while Harding's Maysa Willis made three saves.

Oklahoma Baptist (6-6-6) will play Ouachita Baptist in the tournament finals, while Harding's season concludes with a 7-8-3 record.
