SEARCY – The Harding softball team completed the series sweep Sunday after shutting out Southwestern Oklahoma 4-0 in Great American Conference action. Harding won both games Saturday, 6-4 and 4-0.
The Lady Bisons have now won 10 straight games dating back to March 2.
Harding improves to 18-9 overall and 10-4 in the GAC.
Southwestern Oklahoma falls to 9-16 overall and 6-8 in the GAC.
Riley Price and Sarah Philips combined to get the shutout for Harding. Price started and went six innings and got the win to improve to 12-6. She gave up three hits and struck out three. Philips came in and pitched one innings and had one strikeout.
Harding was led at the plate by Macy Ham and Kaya Lee who each went 2-for-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Emma Curry got the scoring started for Harding in the second inning when she hit a solo home run to center. It was her team leading fourth homer of the season. A couple batters later, the Lady Bisons scored another run when Kaya Lee hit a single to left that scored Tori Turner.
With two outs in the fifth, Macy Ham singled and then Mariana Caro knocked her in after she hit a triple to right center. Jordan Cabana then knocked in Caro to make it 4-0.
GAME NOTES
- Harding outhit Southwestern Oklahoma 7-5.
- The Bulldogs left seven runners on base.
- For the first time in nine games, the Lady Bisons didn't have a stolen base in the game.
- Courtney Hill started and received the loss for Southwestern Oklahoma. She went the distance and gave up three earned runs and struck out four. She falls to 2-6 on the season.

Harding will be back in action Tuesday when it travels to Jackson, Tennessee to take on Union in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
