The Harding men's tennis team shot a 25-over 313 in the first round of the Arkansas Collegiate in El Dorado, Arkansas on Monday, and finished the day tied for fifth with Arkansas Tech. Host Southern Arkansas leads after Round 1 with a 10-over 298. 

Sam Tandy finished a great day with an even 72 and is tied for the tournament lead. Tandy sank three birdies and 12 pars in his round on his way to the top. Jose Garcia posted a 4-over 76 on Monday to finish the day tied for 10th. Dennis Staykov finished the day tied for 34th at 9-over 81. 

Jose Peralta sits tied for 44th after a 12-over 84 opening round. Leo Maciejek is tied for 48th with a 13-over 85. Wilmer Haakansson competed as an individual and highlighted the day with an eagle on the par-4 11th hole and finished the day tied for 62nd at 16-over 88. 

The Bisons will return to action on Tuesday, teeing off at 8 a.m.
