Staykov Wins GAC Championship; Bisons Grab Second

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Dennis Staykov grabbed his second tournament victory of the year while the Harding men's golf team posted their best round of the GAC Championships on Tuesday in the final round, shooting a 3-over 291, tied for the best round of the day, and kept the Bisons in second at 22-over 886. Henderson State took home the team title at 16-over 880. 

Staykov finished the tournament with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday, putting his tournament score at 1-over 217. Staykov posted the tournament's most birdies at 13 over the three rounds. Staykov becomes the fourth Bison to ever win two tournaments in a season. Sam Tandy tied for the lowest round on Tuesday, shooting a 2-under 70, and grabbed his seventh top-5 finish, finishing third at 3-over 219. 

Jose Arzu picked up his fourth top-10 finish after a 2-over 74 put him at 8-over 224 and tied for ninth. Jose Peralta finished tied for 13th at 10-over 226 after a 2-over 74 in Round 3. Leo Maciejek was one of three players to sink two birdies over the three rounds and finished in 40th at 32-over 248. 

Harding led the tournament in both birdies and eagles with 41 and four respectively.
