HU Men's Golf Tied for 10th after Round 1; Staykov, Tandy 7th

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Harding men's golf is part of a four-way tie for 10th place among 20 teams after Round 1 at the NCAA Division II Championship at Orange County National Golf Center.

The top eight teams after three rounds of stroke play advance to the match play rounds. Round 2 of stroke play is Wednesday.

Individually, Harding senior Sam Tandy and sophomore Dennis Staykov are tied for seventh at 3-under 68. Tandy birdied four of his last six holes, and Staykov played his last 16 holes with four birdies and no bogeys. It was Tandy's school-record extending 25th round of par or better this season.

Harding's team shot 4-over 288 and is 11 strokes back of the leaders.

The Bisons, who are playing in the national championship tournament for the second straight season, tee off Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. Live results are available on HardingSports.com.
