Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Ulrich’s Late Equalizer Helps Harding Draw Even with Southern Nazarene

SEARCY, Ark. -  What began with misfortune ended with resilience. After conceding an early own goal, the Harding women's soccer team rallied behind a dominant defensive performance and a late strike from freshman forward Mykala Ulrich, earning a 1-1 draw against Southern Nazarene on Saturday morning at the Stevens Soccer Complex. With the tie, Harding moved to within one point of conference leader Southwestern Oklahoma in the GAC standings.

The Crimson Storm struck first in the 10th minute when a pass across the box from SNU's Bella Moragas deflected off a Harding defender and into the net for an own goal. Despite the setback, Harding controlled much of the match, outshooting SNU 15-9 and holding the visitors to just one shot on target.

Harding's persistence finally paid off in the 75th minute. Kloey Fullerton threaded a pass into the box, and Ulrich buried it into the bottom-right corner for her fourth goal of the season, tying the match at 1-1.

From there, Harding's back line and goalkeeper Maysa Willis stood firm, preserving the draw and extending the Lady Bisons' unbeaten streak to three matches.

Harding (7-5-2, 5-2-1 GAC) continues conference play Thursday, Oct. 30, when the Lady Bisons host Southwestern Oklahoma at 5 p.m. at the Stevens Soccer Complex first first place in the GAC on the line.
