Harding Women’s Soccer Lands Five on CSC Academic All-District Team; Trio Advances to All-America Ballot

SEARCY — The Harding women's soccer program had five student-athletes named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, recognizing their combined excellence on the field and in the classroom.

The five recipients are Sami Berry (F, Jr.), Campbell Cox (D, So.), Skylar Henley (D, So.), Whitney Thomas (F, Sr.), and Maysa Willis (GK, Jr.).

The three honorees who also earned All-Great American Conference (GAC) honors—Thomas, Henley, and Willis—will now advance to the prestigious CSC Academic All-America ballot. The national Academic All-America teams will be announced in December.

Academic All-America Candidates

Maysa Willis, a junior goalkeeper and native of Bentonville, Ark., leads the academic front with a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in strength and conditioning. On the field, Willis was a fixture in the net, starting all 19 games she played. She posted an impressive 11 wins and maintained a goals against average (GAA) of 1.00, tallying 73 saves with a solid .802 save percentage.

Whitney Thomas, a senior forward from Benbrook, Texas, is an environmental sciences major boasting a 3.63 GPA. Thomas had a standout season, starting 19 of 20 games. She was one of the Lady Bisons' leading attackers, recording seven goals and totaling 14 points, including two game-winning goals.

Skylar Henley, a sophomore defender from Bedford, Texas, maintains a 3.87 GPA as an accounting major. Henley was a defensive pillar for the Lady Bisons, starting all 20 games she played. She also contributed offensively, tallying two assists from her backline position.

Academic All-District Honorees

Rounding out the list of Lady Bisons earning Academic All-District recognition are junior forward Sami Berry and sophomore defender Campbell Cox.

Sami Berry, a junior forward from McKinney, Texas, holds a 3.93 GPA in health studies. Berry appeared in 20 games with 17 starts, recording three goals and one assist for a total of seven points.

Campbell Cox, a sophomore defender from Benbrook, Texas, is a communication sciences and disorders major with a 3.78 GPA. Cox played in all 21 contests, making nine starts for the Harding defense.

To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or above, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA, and compete in at least 90 percent of the team's games or start at least 66 percent of the games.
