Harding Men's Track and Field Team Records 8 NCAA Provisional Marks at Pittsburg State Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. - Harding's men's indoor track and field team turned in several strong performances at the Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by multiple NCAA provisional marks and top national rankings.

Olaolu Olatunde led the way, posting provisional times in the 60 meters (6.77) and 200 meters (21.53). His 60-meter time ranks sixth in NCAA Division II, while his 200-meter time ranks 27th. Derick St. Jean also earned a provisional mark in the 400 meters, finishing sixth with a time of 47.74, which ranks 17th nationally.

In the field events, Antiwain Jones cleared 7 feet, 0.25 inches in the high jump to earn a provisional mark. His season-best jump of 7-0.5 ranks sixth nationally. Vlad Malykhin, Everett Mumme and Kylor Aguilar all posted provisional marks in the pole vault, clearing 17-11.75, 16-4 and 16-0, respectively. Malykhin's mark leads NCAA Division II, while Mumme ranks 15th and Aguilar ranks 23rd.

Anton Kopytko broke his own school record in the long jump, leaping 24-6.5 to win the event and earn a provisional mark. His jump ranks 12th nationally.

Other top-10 finishes for Harding included Noah Haileab, third in the 3000 meters (8:31.16); Kelmen deCarvalho, seventh in the heptathlon with a score of 5,211, which ranks seventh nationally; and Kenneth Hatley, sixth in the weight throw (55-3).

The Bisons will look to build on their strong performances as they continue their indoor season on Feb. 14-15 at Vanderbilt.
