Harding Men's Track and Field Team Excels at Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Harding men's track and field team delivered several strong performances at the Music City Challenge, with multiple athletes achieving NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks and moving into contention for berths in the national meet.

Olaolu Olatunde led the way, securing provisional qualifying times in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.76 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.40 seconds. His 200-meter time catapulted him to 19th in the Division II national rankings.

Derick St. Jean also achieved a provisional qualifying time in the 400-meter dash with a sixth-place finish in 47.67 seconds, moving him to 19th in the Division II national rankings. He anchored the Bisons' 4x400-meter relay team, which secured a provisional qualifying time of 3:12.43 and now ranks 13th nationally. The relay team consisted of Samuel Williams, Caledon Ruwende, Emmanuel Ragira, and St. Jean.

Savian Bush rounded out the Bisons' strong performances, finishing sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 7.99 seconds. His time moved him to 14th in the Division II national rankings.

In the field events, Antiwain Jones cleared 2.06 meters (6-9) in the high jump to earn a provisional qualifying mark. Everett Mumme secured a provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.90 meters (16-0.75), while Anton Kopytko achieved a provisional qualifying mark in the long jump with a leap of 7.39 meters (24-3).

Harding competes next Saturday at the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln.
