Mikkelsen Clinches Win as Harding Tennis Edges Cameron 4-3

NORMAN, Okla. — Cian Mikkelsen clinched the match for Harding with a thrilling 6-7 (7-9), 7-5, 6-2 victory over Rhys Edwards at No. 3 singles, lifting the Bisons to a 4-3 win over Cameron on Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the University of Oklahoma campus.

The match was tied 3-3 before Mikkelsen's win, which gave him his fourth consecutive singles victory. Edoardo D'Arrigo also extended his winning streak to five matches with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over Brendan Lock at No. 6 singles.

Harding, which was coming off a 4-3 loss to No. 19 Midwestern State, improved to 3-1 on the season. Cameron, a member of the Lone Star Conference, fell to 0-1.

The Bisons took an early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches, with the No. 10 duo of Cas de Ruiter and Adrian Solorzano defeating Rhys Edwards and Vicente Preto 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

De Ruiter also won at No. 1 singles, defeating No. 30 Louis Boilevin 6-4, 7-5. However, Cameron won three singles matches, including victories by Noe Milliard over No. 27 Adrian Solorzano at No. 2 singles, Raphael Valente over Luis Agullo at No. 4 singles, and Lukas Janousek over Caleb Folse at No. 5 singles.

Harding will look to build on the momentum when it travels to Tyler, Texas, to face Texas-Permian Basin on Friday, Feb. 21.
