LAFAYETTE, La. — Brooklyn Gobble pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings and Riley Price earned her first save of the season as Harding remained undefeated with a 2-0 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Sunday on the final day of the Mardi Gras Invitational.
Gobble (2-0) allowed eight hits and struck out three, while Price pitched 1 2/3 hitless innings in relief.
The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when Harding (5-0) capitalized on a throwing error by Texas A&M-Kingsville. Lana Danielson doubled and scored on the error, and Macy Ham also scored on the play.
Texas A&M-Kingsville (1-4) had opportunities to score, but left nine runners on base. Kristina Nash (0-1) took the loss despite allowing just two unearned runs on five hits in six innings.
Harding's Emma Curry had two hits, including a single in the sixth inning, and Turner had a double and scored a run.
