Harding Men's Track and Field Team Sprints to Success at Alex Wilson Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Speed and strength were on full display Saturday as the Harding University men's track and field team turned in a series of impressive performances at the Alex Wilson Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame at Meyo Field inside the Loftus Sports Center.

Freshman Olaolu Olatunde stole the show, winning two events. He took top honors in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.81 seconds, after posting a 6.95 seconds in the preliminary round. Olatunde also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.64 seconds.

Senior Savian Bush won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.08 seconds.

In the 200-meter dash, freshman Caledon Ruwende finished third with a personal record time of 21.83 seconds, which ranked fifth all-time at Harding.

In the 400-meter dash, senior Derick St. Jean finished second with a time of 47.76 seconds, while teammate Samuel Williams, also a senior, finished third with a season-best time of 48.32 seconds, which also ranked fifth in the Harding record book.

In the pole vault, junior Vlad Malykhin finished second with a height of 5.38 meters.

The Harding men's 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Williams, Ruwende, Emmanuel Ragira and St. Jean, finished second with a time of 3:13.15, which ranked fifth all-time at Harding.

The Alex Wilson Invitational was hosted by Notre Dame.
