Harding Men's Tennis Upsets No. 23 Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Harding men's tennis team upset 23rd-ranked Drury 5-2 on Friday night at the Cooper Tennis Center.

Edoardo D'Arrigo clinched the match for Harding with a straight-set victory at No. 6 singles, beating Oscar Reis 7-6, 7-5.

Adrian Solorzano won a marathon match at No. 2 singles, outlasting Chuy Gonzalez 6-7, 4-7, 7-6, 6-4 in a match that lasted 3 hours and 4 minutes and finished one minute after midnight.

Cian Mikkelsen won at No. 4 singles, defeating Lukas Rieber 6-3, 6-3. Caleb Folse also picked up a win at No. 5 singles, beating Mark Drozdetskii 6-4, 7-6 (7-1).

Harding swept two of three doubles matches, with wins from the teams of D'Arrigo and Caleb Folse, and Florian Gayme and Cian Mikkelsen.

This marks the second straight season Harding has beaten a nationally ranked Drury team. Last season, the Bisons won 5-2 over 13th-ranked Drury.

Harding improved to 1-0 with the win and will face Southwest Baptist on Saturday at 4 p.m. Drury fell to 2-1.
