TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Harding women's tennis edged Northeastern State 4-3 on Wednesday.
The Lady Bisons swept the doubles competition, with Karli Roux and Alexia Zarate Valdez winning 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Natalia Alvarez and Itza Rogel took the No. 2 doubles match 7-6 (7-4), and Sofia Ruiz and Madison Stafford won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Alexia Zarate Valdez, Ruiz, and Alvarez earned victories for Harding. Alexia Zarate Valdez defeated Adel Ismagulova 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, while Ruiz topped Lucia Bontempo 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Alvarez won 6-0, 6-3 against Camila de Michele at No. 6 singles.
The win improved Harding's record to 7-9, while Northeastern State fell to 3-7.
