Five Harding Women's Golfers Earn Academic All-District Honors

SEARCY - The Harding women's golf team is celebrating remarkable academic and athletic achievements, as five of its dedicated student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team for NCAA Division II.

To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a significant contributor on the field or course, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50.

Leading the charge for the Lady Bisons' academic accolades is Sarah Kmiecik, a senior from Houston, Texas. She has achieved an outstanding 4.00 GPA while majoring in kinesiology and sport administration. On the course, Kmiecik has been a vital part of the team's success, contributing with a school-record 74.20 stroke average, six top-10 finishes and seven rounds of par or better.

Joining Kmiecik on the Academic All-District team is Sydney Kincade, a sophomore from Prosper, Texas. She maintains an impressive 3.88 GPA as an exercise science major. Kincade's contributions to the team this season included a 75.52 stroke average and five top-10 finishes.

Kmiecik and Kincade both earned All-Great American Conference honors and have advanced to the Academic All-America ballot.

Also recognized is Pilar Martinez, a junior from Aguascalientes, Mexico. With a 3.56 GPA in marketing, Martinez has proven to be a true student-athlete. On the course, she had a 77.12 stroke average and tied for the individual championship at the Grace Shin Regional Preview.

Adding to the list of honorees is Madeleine Wilson, a junior from Springdale, Arkansas. She holds a strong 3.84 GPA and is studying marketing. Wilson had a 78.76 stroke average in her 10 events.

Rounding out the five recipients is Cooper Meyer, a sophomore from Salado, Texas. A health studies major with a 3.71 GPA, Meyer posted a 79.31 stroke average in 11 events and won the Scots Fall Invitational.

The Lady Bisons concluded their season with a strong showing at the NCAA Central Regional, finishing 10th, after placing second at the GAC Championship.
