BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — 4th-year golfer Sydney Kincade and 2nd-year Vivian Volion each secured top-10 positions on Monday to guide the Harding women's golf team into sixth place after 36 holes at the Tulsa Cup, hosted by Rogers State at The Club at Forest Ridge.
The Lady Bisons shaved nine strokes off their morning score, carding rounds of 314 and 305 to finish the opening day at 43-over par 619 on the par-72, 5,952-yard layout.
Kincade paced Harding with rounds of 74 and 73, closing Monday in fifth place alone in the 90-player field at 3-over 147. Kincade was dialed in on the short holes, tying for second in the field in par-3 scoring at 1-under (2.88 average) while tying for third with six birdies.
Volion joined Kincade inside the top 10 with a four-stroke second-round improvement. After opening with a 77, Volion matched Kincade with a 1-over 73 in the afternoon to tie for eighth place at 6-over 150. Both Kincade and Volion tied for fifth in the field in par-4 scoring at 3-over (4.15 average), while Volion added 22 total pars.
4th-year Cooper Meyer provided steady play in the middle of the lineup, recording matching rounds of 78 to sit tied for 28th at 12-over 156. Meyer tied for eighth among all competitors in par-5 scoring at 1-under (4.88 average).
2nd-year Macy Cooper sits tied for 67th at 24-over 168 (85-83). 2nd-year Alyson Thomas delivered a nine-stroke recovery in the afternoon, following an opening 90 with an 81 to tie for 73rd at 27-over 171.
Harding tied for third in the 17-team tournament field with 95 total pars and tied for sixth with 17 birdies.
Host Rogers State, ranked No. 37 nationally, holds the team lead at 23-over 599 (306-293), six shots clear of Henderson State (+29, 605). No. 28 Midwestern State sits third at 35-over 611. Henderson State's Teagen Muldoon leads the individual medalist race at even-par 144 (72-72), one stroke ahead of Southern Arkansas's Brianna Chamoun (145, +1).
The final round of the Tulsa Cup concludes Tuesday morning at Forest Ridge Golf Club.
