ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Defender Norah Neely delivered a 63rd-minute strike to lift the Harding women's soccer team to a 1-0 Great American Conference road victory over Ouachita Baptist on Wednesday afternoon at Kluck Field.
With the win, Harding improved to 8-4-3 overall and 7-1-2 in GAC play, while Ouachita Baptist fell to 6-6-5 overall and 6-2-3 in conference action.
With today's shutout, Harding has seven straight shutouts which set a new school record. The Lady Bisons haven't allowed a goal in 645 minutes.
Following an Ouachita clearance in the 63rd minute, Neely found herself unmarked near the top of the penalty area. The junior defender drove a right-footed shot inside the left post at the 62:29 mark for her first goal of the season, breaking a scoreless deadlock.
The Lady Bisons applied heavy pressure in the second half, outshooting the Tigers 13-7 over the final 45 minutes and 18-12 for the match. Harding also put seven shots on target compared to just one for Ouachita.
Harding goalkeeper Maysa Willis played all 90 minutes to earn her seventh win and complete the shutout, making one save in the first half on a 24th-minute attempt by Ouachita's McKenna Wright. Fullback trio Calle Citty, Skylar Henley, and Sara Daniel each went the full 90 minutes alongside Willis to anchor the back line.
Dominique Klujian made five saves in goal for Ouachita, while the Tiger defense was credited with a team save in the 26th minute on a shot by Mykala Ulrich.
