Harding Holds at No. 2 in National Polls, Tops Super Region 4 in Latest NPI Rankings

SEARCY, Ark. — The undefeated Harding football team maintained its No. 2 national ranking in both the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll and the D2Football.com Top 25 on Monday, while securing the top spot in Super Region 4 in the latest NCAA Power Index (NPI) release.

With a 9-0 record, the defending national champions boast an NPI of 67.031. That mark places the Bisons first in their super region and third overall across the entire NCAA Division II landscape. Securing the top seed in Super Region 4 at the end of the regular season guarantees home-field advantage through the national quarterfinals of the NCAA playoffs.

Harding's lofty rankings are backed by historic statistical dominance on both sides of the ball. The Bisons lead the nation in rushing offense, churning out 426.3 yards per game, while simultaneously ranking second in rushing defense (65.6 yards allowed per game) and second in total defense (236.0 yards allowed).

Remarkably, Harding is the only team in Division II with a flawless 100 percent red-zone conversion rate, scoring on all 38 trips inside the 20-yard line this fall. Operating its flexbone attack to perfection, the team also leads the country in passing efficiency (249.21) and passing yards per completion (28.63). Defensively, third-year edge rusher Kaleb Walker paces all of Division II with 1.14 sacks per game.

Harding carries a 24-game Great American Conference winning streak and a 28-game home winning streak into Saturday's 3 p.m. Homecoming clash against Southern Nazarene at First Security Stadium.
