RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a pair of standout performances at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, Harding's Benson Lingokal and Everett Mumme have swept the Great American Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, the league office announced Tuesday.
The sweep marks the seventh and final weekly awards presentation of the 2026 indoor season.
Track Athlete of the Week: Benson Lingokal (Fr., Eldoret, Kenya)
Lingokal earns his third Athlete of the Week honor of the season after capturing the individual title in the 3,000-meter run this past Friday. One week after shattering the Harding school record in the 5,000 meters, the freshman proved his versatility by winning the 3K in 8:18.83. Competing at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center against a premier field of Division I and II talent, Lingokal dominated the event to win by nearly six seconds.
Field Athlete of the Week: Everett Mumme (Jr., Satellite Beach, Fla.)
Mumme secures his first career GAC weekly accolade after a clutch, season-best performance in the pole vault. The junior cleared 5.12m (16-09.50) to finish as the runner-up in a highly competitive field. The mark is an NCAA Provisional height and vaulted Mumme to No. 13 on the national performance list. He currently ranks second in the GAC in the event heading into the postseason.
Harding concludes the indoor regular season with the No. 9 national ranking in Division II. The Bisons now await the announcement of the NCAA National Championship field, which will be released by 5 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, March 3.
