RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its ninth GAC men's track & field athletes of the week winners. Harding's Savian Bush and Casen Hammitt won the track and field honors respectively, for the second-consecutive week.
#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Savian Bush, Sr., Harding, Tatum, Texas
Bush won the 110-meter hurdles in 13.88 seconds at the Stallion Transportation Harding Invitational. He came up just shy of his own school record - 13.75 - but he secured an NCAA Provisional mark. He ran the second leg of the Bisons' winning 4x400-meter relay team. They posted a time of 3:14.49 and crossed the line more than 10 seconds clear of second place
#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Casen Hammitt, Sr., Harding, Nixa, Missouri
Hammitt set a school record and produced the top javelin throw in Division II this season as he dominated the competition at the Stallion Transportation Harding Invitational. He set the record on his first throw of the event, 69.48 meters. He won by almost 10 meters. He broke his own record by more than three meters.
