RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its 11th round of weekly track and field honors Tuesday, with Harding seniors Savian Bush and Casen Hammitt sweeping the men's awards following their dominant performances at the Ole Miss Classic.

The duo led a Bisons squad that secured multiple individual titles and national qualifying marks over the weekend in Oxford, Mississippi.

GAC Track Athlete of the Week: Savian Bush

Sr. | Tatum, Texas Bush proved why he is one of the premier hurdlers in Division II, winning the 110-meter hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 14.09. The veteran didn't stop there, showcasing his range by clocking a personal best of 21.49 in the 200-meter dash to finish fourth overall in a field heavy with Division I talent. Bush also provided a strong start for the Bisons' 4x100-meter relay team, running the opening leg.

GAC Field Athlete of the Week: Casen Hammitt

Sr. | Nixa, Missouri Hammitt continued his excellence in the javelin, claiming the individual title with a mark of 63.00m (206-08). After seizing the lead on his third attempt with a throw of 61.31 meters, Hammitt extended his advantage on his fourth toss to win the competition by more than three meters. His performance over the weekend currently ranks him third nationally in the event.

Bison Notables The sweep marks the latest accolades for a Harding program that was recently voted the preseason favorite to win its fifth consecutive GAC outdoor title. The Bisons are currently preparing to host the conference championships in Searcy later next month.
