MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. — Junior Sydney Kincade delivered a standout performance Monday, carding the Lady Bisons' first under-par round of the season to lead Harding during the second round of the Spring Region Preview at Shangri-La Country Club.
Kincade's 1-under 71 moved her into a tie for fourth place individually and tied for the seventh-best single round in program history. After an opening-round 73, Kincade sits at even-par 144 heading into Tuesday's final round. Her afternoon was highlighted by a 2-under-par 34 on the back nine, a stretch that included three birdies.
As a team, the Lady Bisons found their rhythm on the Heritage and Legends nines, shaving 12 strokes off their opening-round score to post a 12-over 300. Harding remains in eighth place in the 17-team field with a 36-hole total of 36-over 612.
No. 32-ranked Arkansas Tech continues to lead the tournament at 7-over, followed by No. 46 Central Oklahoma (+16) and host No. 33 Central Missouri (+20).
Pilar Martinez provided the other major second-round highlight for Harding. After shooting an 83 on Sunday, Martinez bounced back with an even-par 72 on Monday. Her clean scorecard featured two birdies and 14 pars, allowing her to vault into a tie for 37th place.
Senior Madeleine Wilson remained the model of consistency, posting her second consecutive 2-over 74. Wilson is currently tied for 13th place with a two-day total of 4-over 148. Vivian Volion (T71st) and Macy Cooper (80th) rounded out the Harding lineup.
The field enjoyed pristine spring conditions on the shores of Grand Lake, with clear skies and temperatures reaching the high 60s. The final 18 holes of the 54-hole event will conclude Tuesday morning.
