TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Harding women's soccer team created plenty of offensive looks but could not break through Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 to Northeastern State at DeLoache Field.
Despite controlling much of the early tempo and outshooting the host RiverHawks 15-11, the Lady Bisons (1-1-0) dropped their first match of the young 2026 season.
Northeastern State (2-0-0) notched the game's lone score in the 57th minute. Hannah Anderson delivered a setup pass to Sophia See, who finished for her first goal of the year at the 56:40 mark.
Harding established pressure early, forcing RiverHawks goalkeeper Juliette Langlet into four saves in the opening half while heavily outshooting Northeastern State 10-3 in the first 45 minutes. For the match, the Lady Bisons held a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal and earned seven corner kicks to Northeastern State's four.
However, Langlet turned away all six Harding attempts on target to preserve the shutout for the RiverHawks.
In net for Harding, senior goalkeeper Maysa Willis played the full 90 minutes and recorded three saves on 11 shots faced.
Harding will return home to Searcy, Arkansas, on Friday, Sept. 4, to host Rogers State at the Stevens Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
