SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding women's soccer team battled through a scoreless first half against No. 18 Central Missouri before a four-goal second-half push by the Jennies handed the Lady Bisons a 4-0 setback on Friday night at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
Harding (1-2-1) held strong through the opening 45 minutes, matching the nationally ranked Jennies step-for-step in dynamic energy and outshooting UCM 5-4 prior to the break.
Central Missouri (4-1-0) found the breakthrough early in the second half when Ryann Clark scored in the 53rd minute off a feed from Hazel Douglas-Trotman. The Jennies added insurance strike goals from Hadley Lockhart in the 56th minute, Maryn Clement in the 70th minute, and Annabelle Slamin in the 84th minute to secure the non-conference result.
Despite the deficit on the scoreboard, the Lady Bisons generated standard offensive pressure, finishing with a 13-12 advantage in total shots. Harding took eight attempts in the second half, led by multi-shot performances from Citty, Kendall Jerkins, Gabie Eddins, and Blair Rowlett.
In goal, Maysa Willis logged four saves over the full 90 minutes for the Lady Bisons, while defenders Skylar Henley and Sara Daniel played complete 90-minute matches along the back line.
Harding looks to bounce back Sunday when it hosts Washburn at 1 p.m., at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
