HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Harding volleyball team wrapped up the UAH Invitational Saturday afternoon, sweeping Spring Hill College 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) inside Spragins Hall.
With the straight-set victory, the Lady Bisons improved to 7-1 on the season and capped off a 3-1 weekend in tournament play.
Olivia Wiedower orchestrated the offense, dishing out a match-high 36 assists while pacing the Lady Bisons' defense at the net with six blocks.
Philomina Klotz provided the power on the outside, attacking at a efficient .524 clip to finish with a match-high 13 kills along with five blocks. Addie Worley registered a double-double, racking up 12 kills and 10 digs while adding two of Harding's six service aces.
Defensively, the Lady Bisons suppressed the Badgers' attack all afternoon, keeping Spring Hill (1-5) to a sub-.100 hitting efficiency. Melaina Haines anchored the backline with a game-high 12 digs, followed closely by Maddie Burrough with 11 digs.
Harding controlled the tempo early in the opening set, pulling away for a 25-19 win before seizing complete momentum in sets two and three, taking both by identical 25-17 scores to secure their third straight sweep.
The Lady Bisons will open Great American Conference action Tuesday when they travel and take on Arkansas-Monticello at 6 p.m.
