David Elliott

David Elliott will be in his 35th season as the head coach of the Bison tennis team and his 19th as head coach of the Lady Bison program during the 2009-10 school year. He is the longest tenured coach in Harding athletics history.

After becoming only the fourth conllegiate tennis coach on record to surpass 1,000 career victories in 2006, Elliott moved past 1,100 wins in 2009. He has a 785-287-3 men's record and a 328-134 women's record. Elliott's combined mark is 1,113-421-3 (.725).
 
Elliot has led his teams to 10 conference championship and has both programs consistently ranked in the NCAA II South Region and NCAA II national polls.
 
The Bisons finished 16-7 overall last season, marking the 34th straight year Elliott’s men have had a winning record. The women’s team compiled a 18-10 mark and continued its streak of 18 straight winning seasons.
 
Elliott was a four-year letterwinner on the Harding tennis team from 1965-1969. He was a three-time All-Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference honoree and won the Berryhill Award as Harding’s top senior male athlete.
 
A 1969 Harding graduate with a degree in kinesiology, Elliott earned his master’s in teaching in 1972.
 
Elliott is married to the former Len Newberry of Kansas City, Mo. The couple has three daughters—Rebecca, Tish, and Amy—and three grandchildren.
